Tips for taking care of your nails

Repeated varnish, the little skins that we tear off with our teeth, the dishes or the cleaning … so many small everyday gestures that by force, make our nails soft and brittle. To fight against this phenomenon, it is enough to set up an adapted beauty routine. And no, it’s not that complicated!

RULE N ° 1: MOISTURIZE NAILS AND HANDS

To have beautiful skin like beautiful nails, there is no secret, hydration is essential. Every day, especially in winter when the cold makes the skin particularly dry, we hydrate our hands … to the tips of the nails. And for these to be even more radiant, a moisturizer alone is not enough. With a special cuticle care, such as nourishing oil, massage your fingertips for a few seconds at night before going to bed and leave the product to act all night. If the cuticles are too invasive, we do not hesitate to push them back slightly with a wooden stick.

RULE N ° 2: TO CARE FOR YOUR NAILS: FILE AND POLISH

Rather than cut them, we file them with professional manicure and pedicure set. Ideally, always in the same direction, without going back and forth so as not to weaken them. And above all, we ban the nail clipper which often causes damage. Tip: if our nail file contains two sides, one with a rather fine grain and the other with a thicker grain, we opt for the one with a fine grain, more flexible and less abrasive for the nail. Once the filing step is over, you polish the top of your nails with a polisher. This little beauty accessory makes nails smoother, more beautiful and shinier! To be done once every two weeks.

RULE N ° 3: CHOOSE THE APPROPRIATE CARE

Before putting varnish on it, our nails must be impeccable. Whiten them, harden them, nourish them, make them less brittle, prevent them from duplicating … for each problem, its dedicated care! And since it can take several weeks to regain healthy nails, do not hesitate to use certain beauty revealing products.

To whiten them, you can also opt for a homemade recipe, ecological, economical and ultra-easy to concoct: mix a few drops of lemon in a little water and let your nails soak for 10 minutes in this mixture. Alternatively, rub some baking soda paste (obtained by mixing it in water) with a small toothbrush.

To finalize the whole, we apply a transparent base on the nails, just to make them shine. And on the hygiene side, we think of rubbing them in the evening with a small brush and a little soap to clean them from the dirt accumulated throughout the day.
